Natural Resources (Part - 2)
The movement of air : Winds
We felt relief after a hot day when cooled air flows and
for a certain time rain falls in our country. When rain falls, the atmosphere became
cold or hot day became cold. All these phenomena happens due to heating of air
or water vapour. Water vapour formed by heating of water of pond, river, or
other water bodies. Water is heated due to the release heat of surfaces and it
also heated by the sun light.
Hot and cold
air moves in the form of air. The surface is heated faster than the water and
also air is heated faster than the water. The air on the surface of land is
heated faster than the air heated on the surface of water.
In costal area
the air over the land surface heated faster. Because it creates low pressure
area So the air starts moves to these areas.
The movement of
this air is called wind. During the day the direction of wind is from sea to
land and during the night the direction of wind is from land to sea.
Factors effecting wind
1. Rotation of earth
2. Mountains in the path of wind
Rain
When water bodies like as pond, river are heated the
water evaporates and goes into the air. It is take place in day when temperature
is more. This water vapour goes up in the air and condensed and cooled. This
water vapour in the air in the form of droplets. Dust and other particles in
the air acts as nucleus for these droplets. These formed water droplets grow
bigger by the condensation of these droplets. When these water droplets grow
bigger and heavy, then these water droplets goes down in the form of Rain. When
the temperature is low it becomes in the form of Snow.
Things effecting rain patterns
1. Wind pattern
2. Monsoons
3. Depressions in the Bay of Bengal
Air Pollution
The fossil
fuels like coal and petroleum contain sulphur and carbon. These fossil fuels
when burnt then they release different oxides of sulphur and carbon which are
dangerous for us. It polluts our air that causes different type of diseases.
These oxide of carbon and sulphur present in air causes acid rain. These particles
may be unburnt carbon particles or hydrocarbons. Due to this smoke in air create
less visibility. It may cause accident. These smokes are very harmful for our
health, it may cause disease like cancer.
Increasing in these harmful substance in air
contents is called Air Pollution.
Cause of Air
Pollution
1. Motor vechicles
2. Fossil Fuels
3. Smoking
Effect of Air
Pollution
1. Causing
health diseases
2. It may cause
cancer
3. It may cause
breathing disease.
4. In less
visibility, accident can happens
Protection to
Air Pollution
The main source
of air pollution is fossil fuels. We can avoid these fossil fuels and use these
fossil fuels in less number and use optional things that can help in less air
pollution.
