Concept of Number system

                                   Number System

In lower classes we have studied about the number line and also studied how any number is placed on number system.

Real Numbers

Its a number that can be used in our day today life . It includes all integers , rational numbers or irrational numbers. It contains two types of numbers.
a). Without decimal number like as (-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3...). It also known as integers.
b). With decimal number like as (1.20,1.1212.., 1.23456...)

a). Integers (Without Decimal numbers)

The number that can written without frictional component is known as like as -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3 ... but frictional value is not a integer.

Parts of Integers

1. Negative Integers
2. Zero
3. Positive Integers

1. Negative Integers :-

It contains negative integers like as -3,-2,-1.... .

2. Zero :-

It contains zero . When zero is added in positive integers its become Whole Number.

Whole Number = Positive Integers + Zero

    (0,1,2,3... are whole number)

3. Positive Integers :-

It contains non fractional positive numbers like as 1,2,3,...
It also known as natural numbers or counting numbers.

b). With Decimal number
1). Terminating numbers :- It terminate after a number like 1.20.
2). Non-terminating and repeating :- It has repeating value in fraction like as 1.121212..
3). Non-terminating and non-repeating(Recurring) :- It has non repeating values and non terminating value like as 1.234567....

Rational Number

The number that can be represented in the form of p/q, is known as rational numbers.
where p and q are integers and q is not zero.
For example 1/2,1/3......
Note :- All integers and Terminating value are rational numbers.

Irrational Number

The Number is called irrational number, if it can not written in form of p/q.
where p and q are integers and q is not zero.
For example 0.01111, 0.02222, 0.0333 .....
Note :- All non-terminating values are irrational numbers.

Laws of Exponents

1. A^b . A^c = A^(b + c)
2. (A^b)^c = A^(bc)
3. A^b / A^c = A^(b - c)
4. A^c . B^c = (A*B)^c
